Known for their subtle executions as well as remixing and refining Reebok’s classic designs, Mountain Research’s latest effort falls under the latter. Working on the Beatnik slide a niche shoe turned breakaway star over the past few seasons. We see a Beatnik unlike anything that’s come before it. Japanese designer Kobayashi Setsumasa takes elements from 00’s hiking boots and design references from Mountain Research’s shared knowledge of footwear stylings and combines it with a dose of Americana as we’re treated to some stitching details that echo those of the iconic western ‘Cowboy Boot’. An all leather upper features in a nod to both rugged styles of footwear complete with the aforementioned stich detail. A signature ripple sole unit with it’s cut ridges offers comfort and grip for this lounge ready style.
